Teide by day: cable car to 3,555 metres, guided Teide Tour, summit climb with permit, the Observatory or a brunch with a view.
The Teide cable car climbs in eight minutes from 2,356 metres at the base station to 3,555 at La Rambleta, just below the highest peak in Spain, with views over the other islands and the sea of clouds. We book the Teide tour that best fits your plan.
You can buy just the cable car ticket (return), join the 7-hour Teide Tour with transport and an official guide, with or without the cable car, have brunch before going up, take a 90-minute guided visit to the Teide Observatory or, if you are fit, reach the summit with the special crater permit on a 6-hour trip.
You can spend an hour at the top station. In strong wind the cable car does not run, and the day is changed or you are refunded. Because of the altitude it is not recommended for under-3s, pregnant women or people with heart or breathing problems. Pick-up is at the point closest to your hotel, in the south or north.
One hour at the upper station. With the crater permit (summit climb), as long as the route takes.
Not for the cable car. The summit climb is demanding: you walk at more than 3,500 metres, where the air is thin.
Children can, but because of the altitude it is not recommended for under-3s, pregnant women or people with heart or breathing problems.
In strong wind the cable car does not run. In that case the day is changed or your money is refunded.
At the meeting point closest to your hotel, in the south or the north depending on the tour. There may be a change of coach.
