Deep-sea and bottom fishing in Tenerife: tuna, marlin and dorado, on a shared or private boat from Puerto Colón, Los Cristianos or Golf del Sur.

Off the south of Tenerife the seabed drops to great depths very close to the shore, so within minutes you are deep-sea fishing. Depending on the season you go after tuna, marlin, dorado or wahoo, and bottom fishing for red porgy, amberjack, grouper and more works all year. Dolphins, whales and turtles are often seen during the trip.

On a shared fishing trip you pay for your place as an angler, or as a companion if you are not fishing; on a private fishing charter the boat is just for your group and you choose the hours. Trips leave from Puerto Colón, Los Cristianos and Golf del Sur.

No experience needed: the crew sets up the rods and shows you what to do. Includes boat with captain and crew, rods, reels, bait, water, soft drinks and insurance. You can usually keep smaller and bottom species; big billfish such as marlin are tagged and released.

I have never fished, can I come?

Yes. The crew sets up the rods, explains what to do and helps you when something bites. It is an activity for beginners and experienced anglers alike.

What is the difference between shared and private?

On the shared trip you go with other anglers and pay per person; if you come without fishing, you pay the cheaper companion rate. On the private one the boat is for your group only and the price is for the whole boat.

Can I keep what I catch?

Usually yes, the small and bottom species. Large billfish such as marlin are tagged and released back into the sea, according to Canary Islands rules.

Can I come with children?

Yes, especially on the 3-hour private trip, which is the most comfortable for families. Tell us the ages when you send the request.

What if I get seasick?

If you get seasick easily, take something for it before setting off and have a light breakfast. The boat returns to port if needed.
